Obituary of "Fanny", "Fina", "Fran" Poot

POOT, "Fanny", "Fina", "Fran" (nee Spyk) Peacefully, surrounded by family and on her own terms, our mom passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Fanny has always been the "Special Lady" of Russell Laidman who cared for her deeply. She leaves behind a loving family including Alice and Ed Martin, Daryl and Hollie, Suzanne, Spencer and Tyler, Gary and Cheryl Poot, Emily and Nolan, Tim Poot and Mitzi Lawrence, Alicia and Alexis, Jim and Brenda Poot, Christina and Eric and Stephanie. She will be missed by her sister Corry Kotsovolos and Nick van Soelen. She is predeceased by her parents and brother. The family would like to extend their thanks to the dedicated team of nurses and doctors that looked after her including those on 4D Cardiology as well as the Complex Care team at St. Joseph's Hospital. Visitation will be at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, Ont. on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. A small reception will follow the internment at Mount Hamilton Cemetery, Rymal Rd (at Upper Wellington), Hamilton, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation, Palliative Care Fund would be appreciated.
