Obituary of James Drysdale

DRYSDALE, James (Jim) February 4, 1930 – January 1, 2013 Jim passed away peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital on January 1, 2013 at the age of 82. Beloved husband and "best friend" of Olga for 59 years. Predeceased by his mother, Margaret General; father, Joseph Drysdale; step-father, Fred General, brother, Jack Drysdale; sister-in-law, Phyllis Drysdale; sister, Shirley Ilton; and brother, Frank General. Jim will be missed by his brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Beulah General; sister-in-law, Helga; brother, Bob General; and sister and brother-in-law, Marg and Sonny Bowman. As well, Jim will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at Pioneer Memorial United Church, 1974 King Street East, Hamilton, on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. A short visitation at the Church will take place at 10:00 a.m. Following the memorial service, you are invited to join the family for refreshments in the Church Hall. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1895 Main Street West, Hamilton. The family wishes to thank all the doctors and nurses at the Juravinski and Hamilton General Hospitals and a special thank you to Reverend Bonnie Holliday as well. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army, Red Cross, Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Alzheimer's Association or Pioneer Memorial United Church.
