Obituary of Jan (John) A.W. Janssen

JANSSEN, Jan (John) A.W. Peacefully, at his home, on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the age of 95. Reunited with his beloved wife Aaltje (Alice) of 58 years. Devoted father of William and his wife Catharine, and James. Loving Opa of Amanda (Rodney), Tiffany, Daniel (Kristen), Samantha and Great-Opa of Gabriel, Connor, Johanna, Olivia, Abigail and Zaiden. He will be missed by family in the Netherlands. He was a retired stationary engineer from Stelco with 30 years of service. He was also an active member of Wesley United Church (Fruitland, Ontario) and was part of the choir for many years. Thank you to CCAC, St. Joseph’s Home Care, St. Elizabeth Home Care, with special thanks to RN’s Sheri, Victoria, Jan, PSW’s Rena, Harpreet and Dr. Mussani and nurse Eunice. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Wesley United Church would be greatly appreciated by the family
