ZAPOTICHNY, Edward
In his 92nd year at St. Peter’s Hospital on November 16, 2015. Predeceased by his wife Mary nee Rogalski (1998) and his companion Mary Peach (2015) both of whom he was very devoted to. Also predeceased by his sisters Anne Fell (Ken), Eva Radko (Stan) and his brother Chester Zapton (Yvonne). He will be missed by his nephew Robert Radko and his wife Inge, his niece Susan Walkinshaw and her husband Jonathan, his nephew Colin Fell and his partner Mary Walker along with other nieces and nephews. Ed will be lovingly remembered and missed by members of the Peach family. It was with great pride that Ed served to protect Canadians in WWII. Upon completing a Bachelor of Arts degree from McMaster University in 1951 he went on to work for Dofasco as a chemist until his retirement in 1987. Ed will be fondly remembered for the many words of wisdom he so graciously shared with all of us. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Stone Church Family Health – Team B – Dr. Ellen Clarke and her staff, CCAC, Juravinski Cancer Centre and all of the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital Ward 3 especially Dr. Bev and nurses Peter and Cindy. We would especially like to thank our parish family for all of their spiritual support and care. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Parish, 20 Idlewood Ave., Hamilton on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the MS Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or an act of kindness made to someone in need of support is appreciated.
