Obituary of Irene Hill

HILL, Irene (nee Green) At age 75, Irene Hill passed away peacefully at Carpenter House Hospice in Burlington on November 13, 2015 with her family at her side. Born in Scotland on June 26, 1940, she emigrated from Glasgow to Sudbury, Ontario in 1969 with her husband Douglas. Irene worked at the Sudbury Star followed by a 25-year career with the Royal Bank of Canada. She enjoyed a range of hobbies and activities but most of all she loved being Granma to Emma. She is predeceased by her husband Douglas and is survived by her son Iain (Karen) and daughter Kathleen (Roger). Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral0 Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Irene’s life will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery, Stoney Creek. Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association, the Crohn's and Colitis Society or Carpenter House.
