Obituary of Max Dren

DREN, Max (Grampy) Peacefully passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011 at the age of 88. Dearly beloved husband and best friend of Theresa (nee Ciglar) for 66 years. Father to Dianne McCrady (Bruce), Jim Dren, Karl Dren (Linda). He will be sadly missed by all his grandchildren Jeff (Anita), Kris (Liz), Tyler, Kyle, Cassandra, Alana and Great Grampy to Noah. Born in Draganic, Croatia and immigrated to Canada in January 1938. He proudly served in WWII in the Canadian Army. Throughout his life, Max enjoyed fishing, hunting, travelling the world and mostly spending time with his family. Thank you to the staff at St. Joseph Hospital, especially the Nephrology Department, for all their kindness, care and support. The family will receive friends at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, on Thursday, June 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Funeral mass will take place at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King St. East on Friday June 3rd at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
