Obituary of Glenn Edward Wood

WOOD, Glenn Edward Unexpectedly, at his home, on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Lorraine (nee Charron) for 52 years. Loving and supportive father and father-in-law to Douglas and Tami, Grant, Carrie and Jeff. Cherished Poppa to Benjamin, Jack, Zoe, Bailey and Quinn. Survived by sisters-in-law Lavina Charron, Leone Orr (Hugh), Marilyn Ross, Ruth-Ann Charron, Eleanor Black, Lois Charron and Shirley Wood. Predeceased by brother Ronald, brothers-in-law Ron Charron, Ronald Ross, Gene Charron, Gerald Black and Denton Charron. He leaves behind his many nieces and nephews, including Dennis Wood, Janet Kerr (Bruce) and Bruce Wood (Wendy). He will be sadly missed by many good friends. Glenn worked at Stelco for 37 years and ran the Pro Shop at Stoney Creek arena for 15 years. He was a long time coach with Stoney Creek Minor Hockey, an avid golfer and fisherman and was involved in many local athletics including hockey, baseball, tennis and running. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Dive, Stoney Creek on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Fifty Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
