George was the kind of person who would not be influenced by other persons boundaries or barricades. When people today talk about being open minded and "liberal" its mostly lip service compared to the actions of my friend George Campbell. When I was in high school he befriended me, an awkward very effeminate guy who didn't fit in at all being befriended by the coolest of them all, and he treated me like an equal - he was truly a free spirit who could see past external appearances and camouflages and go right to the person inside. I was sad to see that he has passed but may his spirit and strength will live with me forever.
