Obituary of Donald Edward John Douglas

DOUGLAS, Donald Edward John (January 5,1928-September 23,2010) With dignity and courage, Don passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Thursday, September 23, 2010. Dear husband of Irene for 25 years. Predeceased by his first wife, Lois Diehl (1966). Beloved and devoted father of Lesley and Cameron. Proud grandfather of Jessie, Kenny, Helen, Eric and Lexie. Cherished friend of Bob (Jackie) Trimble for 80 years. Don was an employee of Buntin Gillies (Domtar) for 42 years where he became close friends with many colleagues and customers. He enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Gould Lake where, for over 50 years, he had many special friendships. The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek (due to road construction please take Second St. north from King St. and turn right at Charles St.) on Monday, September 27, 2010 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A private family service and interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
