Obituary of Theresa Marie Halper

After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s, on Saturday, April 4, 2015, in her 88th year, Theresa (Terry) is finally at peace with her loving husband Julius (Joe). Survived by her 5 children, Madeleine Halper Van Goch (the late Al), Louis (Jeanette), Bob (Cindy), Theresa (Steve) and Joe (Julia). Loved grandmother of Loretta Van Goch Anderson (Keenan), Daniel Van Goch (Mandy), Craig (Lisa), Neil, Carla and Keith Halper, James, David and Michael Halper. Great-grandmother of Michael, Neil and Kallie Van Goch, Adam and Cameron Halper. Theresa was the last child of Matilda and Adelard Gauvreau, the last sibling of 4 sisters and 5 brothers, and aunt to over 100 first, second and third generation nieces and nephews. Theresa has been a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish since 1952 and a member of their CWL for over 60 years. Special thanks to Albright Manor in Beamsville and all of the caregivers, nurses, cleaners, cooks, doctors, volunteers and staff for their love and thoughtfulness over the past 11 years. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. Private interment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery next to her husband Julius.
