Obituary of Norma Irene Arrowsmith
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Norma Arrowsmith, after a very brief illness, on Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Clarion Nursing Home in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Albert (1993). Norma was a most loving, devoted Mom to her daughter, Sue Mancini, who will miss her tremendously. She was the very proud Nana to her grandchildren Dan Mancini, Mark Arrowsmith (Jen), Melane Arrowsmith, Eric Mancini (Jenny) and special Nana to Lisa Kitchen. She absolutely adored and was blessed with her great-grandchildren Blake, Kyrstyn, Jared, Arden, Pax, Claire, Ysabel and special great Nanny to Mathew Kitchen. Norma will always have a very cherished place in the heart of Paul Hetherington (Karen). She will be fondly remembered by Bill Arrowsmith (Audrey) and Vivian Arrowsmith. Her many nieces, nephews and her wonderful friends, Edith Mancini and Marilyn and Paul Kitchen will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her daughter Lynn, son-in-law Phil and sisters Florence and Dolores. Norma enlisted in the Army following Albert overseas where she was an entertainer for the troops. They married in England in 1945. Throughout her life, Norma had an amazing talent for knitting and crocheting and lovingly gave her creations to many. She was also very fortunate to have been a homeowner for 63 years. While residing at the Clarion, Norma could always be found with her lovely circle of friends thoroughly enjoying many activities. She was quite the social butterfly! Norma will be missed. Treasured memories her grandchildren have of the summers at Nana and Papa’s cottage are priceless. Norma was a true inspiration, having survived cancer twice in her lifetime. Heartfelt thanks to Drs. Robert and Christopher Ambis, The Janjic Family and their highly dedicated staff for their endless compassion and care, giving Norma a beautiful quality of life. At Norma’s request, cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 6-9 p.m. A private family interment will be held at a later date. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tim Horton’s Send a Kid to Camp Foundation or a Charity of your choice.
