Roger and Ryan, I was saddened to hear of Evelyn's illness and passing. I have many fond memories of working with Evelyn. Ryan was in my first grade 7 class and I remember how generous Evelyn was as a parent and then as my principal. She demonstrated God's love in all that she did. My prayers are with you both.

Roger, Ryan, Tom & Pat, family, You have been in my thoughts and prayers since hearing of Evelyn's passing. I have wonderful memories of Evelyn and appreciated her so much as our principal at Burlington Christian Academy when I started my career in teaching. She was an inspiration to me. She made it her mission to be sure I had a positive experience as a new teacher. My very first day of teaching I was nervous and there on my desk sat a beautiful card of encouragement from Evelyn. She believed in me and my gifts. Our staff was blessed by many little notes and gifts of encouragement from her. She truly cared about our well being. We were blessed. May you know the comfort and presence of the Lord Jesus during this difficult time.

Dear Roger and Ryan Thinking of you at this sad time with heartfelt condolences to you and your family. We are former neighbours from Cornwallis Road and have missed you since you moved away. Evelyn was our daughter's kindergarten teacher at Fessenden School in 1993 and we quickly became friends. That year, at the Christmas assembly the class sang a beautiful carol, complete with hand signing.(unforgettable) Time passed, and meeting Evelyn in the community was always a delight. We'd catch up on each other's news while she picked out globe grapes for you, and chocolate bars for Ryan. She was thoughtful, humorous, and caring even when facing difficulties... an extraordinary human being. How fortunate we are to have been touched by her goodness. We hope Evelyn knew how much she was loved and admired. We also hope that both of you know there are many of us who continue to care deeply for you, her family. I was so sorry and saddened to read about Evelyn's death. I supply taught for her for many years and also knew Ryan when he was in the primary grades. I would run into her occasionally at Fortino's and we'd have a good laugh and catch up on the news about both of our families. I was also in her class when she had her first bout with cancer and feel so badly that she had to go through it all again. She was such a wonderful person and always beamed when she talked about you, Roger, and how proud she was of Ryan. She will certainly be missed!

So sorry for this loss Roger. I have good memories of Evelyn at Green Acres with Wally Jantzen, 39 years ago. I only taught there for the one year but the people and the kids were wonderful, and I carried lessons learned and modelled there for the rest of my career. Even the caretaker was a great guy and we all worked together. It is good to think of Ev enjoying the joys of being with Christ in Heaven in a new body with no tears and no pain. Till later Ev.

I will always recall Mrs. Hewitt with the fondest of thoughts. Our son was very withdrawn in kindergarten at Fessenden School. His beloved teacher gave him confidence and brought a smile when he would recount what Mrs. "Ewitt" taught him that day. An angel has been lifted to heaven.
