Dear Raymond Deitz and family, please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your wife and mother. Anita Deitz was very important in my life as a child and teen, teaching me piano, and a deeper music appreciation where I wouldn't have found it otherwise. I strove to make her proud taking my RCM exams and always happily felt that I did so. She was a stable and steadfast person as I grew up, which I very much needed. I've become a musician and a music teacher myself. Therefore I think of her all the time, fondly and with love.

Although I did not meet Anita, I know that my mother, the late June Chappel spoke very highly of her. When my mother died, I phoned Anita to let her know and we had a wonderful conversation. She spoke of the very close friendship that her mother had with my nana, Fern Smith. Since that conversation in 2008, I have been placing a wreath on the headstone of Anita's parents. I am so sorry for your loss, as obviously Anita was a much loved, talented, and caring lady.

It was such a privilege to have Mrs. Deitz as my piano teacher and mentor. She set such an amazing example of a Christian performer, teacher, and friend. I often refer to her throughout my own teaching, for she always had words of wisdom for performance, teaching and life. 'Thank you' to an amazing woman of God.

Hello Raymond..........please accept our sincerest sympathy for your loss of your lovely wife ,Anita.......Unfortunately this event catches up to all of us in due course......Although its been over 70 years since you and Joyce along with your mother lived on Providence St and I on Park Row in Hamilton, I still remember some of our play times then and visiting Delta Tabernacle with you on several occasions......God Bless...........

We were saddened to hear of Anita's death and our hearts go out to her family in this time of loss. We not only have a family connection (Don's sister Mary was married to Anita's brother Paul), but we also share a love of good music. Sadly, we will be in Florida beginning tomorrow (Thursday), so we cannot attend the service. However, we will be there is spirit. Blessings. Don & Mimi
