Obituary of Gordon Howlett Dean

DEAN, Gordon Howlett, M.Sc. Peacefully at Ridgeview Long Term Care on Saturday, April 19, 2008, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Mary. Loving father to Patricia and her husband Gerry de Koning, Kathryn and Charlotte. Dear brother of Douglas and his wife Irene. Uncle of Tom (predeceased) and John and his wife Judy. Doting grandfather of Carolyn Johnson (Jeremy), David de Koning (Elizabeth) and Peter de Koning. Great-grandfather to Miles. Gordon had a lifelong involvement in local and provincial politics and community activities. He was born and raised on the family farm in Fruitland where he farmed with his brother Douglas. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Wesley United Church (corner of Fruitland Rd. and Highway #8) on Wednesday, April 23 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation will follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
