Obituary of Maureen Fairfield

In the loving arms of family, Maureen passed away after a steadfast and valiant battle, on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at the age of 64. She will be greatly missed by her doting husband and soul partner Richard Fairfield. Devoted and loving Mom to Tim Fairfield (Lara), Jessica Sustr (Dan), and Sarah Fairfield (Chris Pirie). Adoring Gramma to Adam and Matthew; Avery, Julia, and Violet; Zoe, Remy, Rio, and Levi. Beloved sister of Sheila Dexter (Raymond) and David Nixon (Linda). Pre- deceased by her parents Raymond and Anne Nixon. Maureen was caring and compassionate as a Registered Nurse and provided warmth toward all who knew her. Sincerest thanks to Dr. A. Woods and the team at St. Joseph’s. Heartfelt gratitude toward the staff and volunteers at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. Maureen loved the beauty in nature and was fond of magnolia trees. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Maureen’s beautiful life will take place at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 3-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Maureen`s Memorial Tree at the Royal Botanical Gardens (www.rbg.ca) would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
