Obituary of Ilinka Trifunovic
Born in Uzdolje, Dalmacija, Yugoslavia on July 22, 1934. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ilinka on October 12, 2013, surrounded by loving family. Ilinka was the loving wife of her late husband Duro for over 55 years. Ilinka is predeceased by her parents Dusan and Durdja Sare and her brother Krsto (Bosa). Survived by her sisters, Maria Henry and Nada Sare living in England. She will be sadly missed by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, in-laws and grand-nephews and grand-nieces in Canada, England and Serbia, also much loved Kumovi in Hamilton, Windsor and USA. Together with her late husband Duro, she was a founding member of the St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Cathedral (Nash Road) and of the Serbian Cetniks Ravna Gora Cente (Winona). She was a long-time member of the circle of Sisters at the Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Hamilton and Chetnik Hall in Winona. Special thanks to the caring and dedicated staff at the Arbour Creek Nursing Home. Visitation will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, October 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Pomen at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 149 Nash Rd. S., Hamilton on Wednesday, October 16 at 11a.m. The Very Reverend father Djuro Samac officiating. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery.
