Obituary of Lily Eliza Maxine Francis

Peacefully at home on Sunday, January 18, 2015, surrounded by her family, Maxine was in her 78th year. Beloved wife of Stanley for 56 years. Beloved mother and mother-in-law to Kevin (Thelma), Gregory (Lori), Michael (Cindy), Gary (Nancy), Tracy Dupuis (Don), Kimberly Deveau (Jeremy), Shari Connolly and Laurieann Dedio. Cherished nanny to 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She will be sadly missed by her sisters in law and many nieces and nephews. Special friend and nanny to many. Family and friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday, January 28 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. A Memorial Service will commence at 12 noon. Followed by interment in Woodland Cemetery. As per Maxine’s wishes cremation has already taken place. A special thank you to her cherished friend Laura MacDougall, Dr. Kennedy, Dr. Soenen and their teams at Norfolk General Hospital in Simcoe, Dr. Simunovic and his team at the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, and the caring staff at CCAC and CBI Home Health. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association or Lions A2 Charities.
