Obituary of Samuel Day

DAY, Samuel Sam entered peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, at the Hamilton General Hospital, on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at the age of 86. Beloved husband and best friend of Joan for 63 years. Loving father of Larry and his wife Bev. Grandfather of Ashley Bolt. Predeceased by his sister Gertrude Henderson. Also survived by nieces Ruth Newton and Joyce McNeil. Sam was a long time member of Winterberry Heights Church of the Salvation Army and he had also served overseas in WW II with the Lorne Scots and the R.H.L.I. Special thanks to Major Greg Simmonds for his love and on going care, to Dr. Stanley Yu, to Sam’s home care worker Rosemary and to the Doctors and Nurses of the 8th floor of the General Hospital for all of their care and compassion. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Winterberry Heights Church (Paramount Dr. and Winterberry) on Friday, March 19th at 1 p.m. Private interment Eastlawn Cemetery.
