Obituary of Jean Shirley Best

Peacefully at Shalom Manor in Grimsby on January 14, in her 92nd year. Longtime Stoney Creek resident Jean / Gramma / Mom will be missed greatly by her family and many friends. Jean was recently predeceased by the love-of-her-life, best friends and her loving husband of nearly 68 years, Bill Best. Missing her greatly are sons John, Gary and Dave; daughters-in-law Gail (Barnes) and Carol (Buckley); and grandsons Andrew, Addison, Doug and Scott. An avid bridge player, curler and supporter of local groups, Jean cheerfully divided her time and caring nature between hometown Hamilton, Stoney Creek and her beloved cottage country in Haliburton. Her many friends from all places already miss her. Many thanks from the family for the care provided by Shalom Manor these past few years – so greatly appreciated.
