Obituary of Ian Robert Edward Roberts
Passed away suddenly at home on Friday, November 28, 2014, in his 78th year. Ian will be sorely missed by his beloved wife Irene of 51 years. Cherished father to Kimberley and Kelly Roberts (Mike Job). Ian is predeceased by his parents Hedley and Catherine Roberts. He will be missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Special friend to Ian and Sherry McGregor, Stewart and Donna Baxter, and Bob and Joanne Niblock. Ian was the previous owner, together with his wife, of the Dundas Dairy Queen and Color Your World (Dulux Paints) on Main Street West. His sense of humour and ability to have fun will be missed by everyone. Ian’s greatest joy was his wife Irene, and daughters Kim and Kelly. You could always find him sitting on the back deck, doing his crossword puzzles. Special thank you to Dr. Scott Nash for his care and support. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. A Funeral Service to celebrate Ian’s life will take place on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel, also with visitation one hour prior. Cremation to follow. Inurnment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Good Shepherd Society of Hamilton or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
