Obituary of Dorothy May Oliver

Peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Grace Villa Nursing Home in her 88th year. Loving wife of the late William Thomas Oliver (Pottruff and Oliver Reality). Cherished mother of Sharon and Ivan Lukacic, Susan and Carl Pleli. Dear sister of Harry and Jeannie Lumb, and the late Joyce and Earl Adams. Devoted grandmother of Dylan (Tina) Bailey, Stephan (Amanda) Lukacic, Jennifer Lukacic and great-grandmother of Skyler, Henry and Zosia Bailey. Dear sister-in-law of John and Eve Oliver, and the late Dorothy and Harold Gale, all of England. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Dorothy had a lengthy career as a floral designer. She was devoted to her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and they are the richer for being blessed with precious memories. She loved working in her garden and thoroughly enjoyed cottage life in Haliburton. Special thanks to all the nursing and support staff at Grace Villa Nursing Home for their kindness and devoted care to “Aunty Dorothy”. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 6 – 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Cremation to follow. If desired, donations to the Alzheimer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
