Obituary of Mary Isabella Whitwell

Mary Isabella Whitwell, in her 92nd year , passed away unexpectedly at her home on November 13, 2014 . She was predeceased by her beloved husband George Whitwell, son Robert Whitwell and son in law Robert Spencer. She was the beloved mother of Shirley Randle, Lois Whitwell, Eleanor Spencer and Walter Whitwell, mother-in-law of David Randle, and a much loved grandmother and great-grandmother. Mary taught for the Hamilton Wentworth Board of Education for 39 years. After her retirement in 1985 she became one of the founding volunteers for the Glanbrook Home Support. She was a long-time member of the Binbrook Agricultural Society, a life member of the Women’s Institute and a life member of the Women’s Missionary Society of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. She was an active volunteer and much loved member of the Binbrook community. At her request, cremation will occur and a celebration of, and thanksgiving for, her life, will take place at Christ Church at 1307 Woodburn Road, in Woodburn (Hamilton) ON., at noon on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Visitation will be held in the adjacent church hall starting at 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Service.
