Obituary of Ann Vellenga
On Sunday morning at Shalom Manor in her 83rd year, the LORD in His infinite mercy and wisdom took Ann unto Himself. Ann had a spark for life in spite of her ups and downs and she shared her generosity and sense of humour with all. She is predeceased by John Vellenga, her husband of 51 years. Loving mother of Peter and Judith, Margaret and Leo DeVries, Patricia and Tim McGee, Joanne and Jetze Wiersma, Sonya and Bob Harbic, Gordon and Teresa, Andrew and Deana, David and Marlene. Dear grandma to thirty-one grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Beloved sister of Andries and Akke Elgersma, Tineke (Piet+) Halbersma, Aukje and Ludze Oenema of the Netherlands and (Steffen+ and Evelyn+) Elgersma. Beloved sister-in-law of (Ted+ and Anke+) Vellenga, Anne and (Bill+) Spoelstra, Pete and Sylvia Vellenga, Elco and Clara Brouwer. Friends and family will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. We welcome all to a Memorial Service on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Fruitland Christian Reformed Church, 805 Highway #8, Stoney Creek, followed by fellowship and refreshments. Preceding the Memorial Service there will be a private interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
