Obituary of William Anderson

A loving family man passed away peacefully on July 18th, 2014 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Bill was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Donna (nee Markle). Loved father of Dennis Anderson (Karen) and Karen Provost (Jerry). Adored grandfather of Jennifer (Stu), Sarah (Julian), Katie, Megan, Carling (Scott) and Laura (Adam). He was such a proud great-grandfather of Nevan, Hannah, Avery, Johanna, Mira and Peyton. Bill enjoyed a long successful career at Stelco, retiring in 1987 as Head of Mechanical Installation, Field Forces. Bill was a lifetime member and served as president of the East Hamilton Optimist Club enjoying club activities. He was also the Charter President of the Caledonia Optimist Club. In his later years, he was a member of the Stoney Creek Legion. The family would like to thank ALL staff at 3West, St. Peter’s Hospital, including his special nurses and many friends for all their expertise and compassionate care. A very special thank you to Anne Cliffe, who played crib with our dad twice a week during his stay at St. Peter’s. He loved and appreciated it very much. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery.
