Obituary of Martina Marietta Chettle-Thomas

On Saturday June 7, 2014, Martina, in her 70th year, peacefully passed away at Dr. Bob Kemp’s Hospice surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Thomas, dear mother of Martin (Jane) Chettle of Ottawa, Randall (Diana) Chettle of Dundas and Grant (Jodi) Chettle of Toronto. Loving grandmother of Cheri (Phillip) and Carley Chettle (Michael). Step mother to Mary Lee (Gord) and Pat. Sister to Andrew (Barb) and Louis (Debbie), predeceased by parents Natalie and Andrew, sisters Rose, Odelie, Noella and brothers; Guy, Gilbert, Reno and Ivan. Martina led a passionate life driven by her love for her children, enjoying moments with her family and best friend, Sandra Chettle, playing cards, shopping, traveling and spending time in the sun. Martina will always be cherished by her children, grandchildren and daughters-in-law. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, Ontario on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 10 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 600 Spring Gardens Rd, Burlington for those wishing to pay their respect. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Bob Kemp’s Hospice for the loving care and family support provided by all staff and volunteers over the past 5 weeks.
