Chris and Helen were very dear cherish friends of ours. We have know them for many, many years. Russ met Chris when he was 15 yrs. old and I knew Helen at Queen Mary Public School. We know you will miss your parents, especially this time of year, but Chris missed Helen so much that perhaps we should cling to the idea that they will be happy together again. We shall miss them. Sincerely Russ & Joan Anger

Jacquie and family,
My thoughts and prayers go to you and your family during this difficult time. May your memories of your father and mother comfort you and give you peace. What a beautiful love story between your parents, we are all inspired by their deep love for each other and their children. We should all follow their examples of love and commitment and strive to apply them in our own lives.
God be with you,
Kesone

Hi Jacquie, I am very sorry to hear about your Mom and Dad passing on. It makes us stop and remember all the good times and good years we had with everyone on Paudash lake for such a long time. I remember your parents very well and particularly your Dad fishing ( with his buddy the Heron). I think of them often when I go past the cottage. They were very nice people. I hope this little note finds the rest of the family well. Please pass on our condolences and tell the family all of you are welcome to drop by the Saunders cottage to share memories anytime. Consider yourself hugged. Rob

So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing; he is now reunited with your Mom. But, how very difficult for you to deal with losing them both so close together and so near to Christmas. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Jacquie, as a teenager involved in Rangers, your parents made me feel so welcome when I visited from Kitchener on week-ends. When we went out with friends and came back to your parents home your Mom was still up ironing and waiting for us. Your Dad kept checking to see if we had yet arrived. You were blessed with wonderful parents that cared deeply for their children. I could not help but observe the deep love between your parents and they always, always held hands. That impression of them walking and holding hands has always remained in my mind. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Oh how horrible, Jacquie. I am sure our children will be telling their children (and grandchildren) about Paudash Lake and "The Candy Man." Know that all the Christies are grieving too and thinking of all of you.

Dear Jacquie,
The news of your father's passing Sunday Dec. 8th is absolutely tragic. One imagines coping with the loss of a parent over time but hardly both within bare weeks. My heartfelt thoughts and condolences wend their way to yourself and the family. The observation about 'praying for broader shoulders rather than lesser burdens' feels more appropriate than ever. Take care of yourself and do pass along our deepest sympathies to the entire family.

My deepest sympathy to Chris's family. I worked at the Board with Chris from 1957 to his retirement. I remember how proud he was to announce the birth of Janice and how he reveled in the achievements of his children. He had a great sense of humour and made our work day an occasion. Stan Johnson and Chris were quite a pair. This is a time for you to bring forth your memories of your parents.

I'm so sorry to hear of Chris' passing. He and my dad (Blake) were great friends , along with Stan, Johnny, and so many others my dad's company worked with for the Building Department. We always heard fun stories of the fishing week trips to the cottage and so many other great stories. Then there were the Yahtzee evenings with my parents at your house and the fun New Year's Eve that my sister's and i spent at your place. I also remember sitting in lawn chairs at your cottage one August night with Janice watching a meteor shower over the lake. We have nothing but very happy memories of both Chris and Helen, and send you all our deepest condolences for both your parents.
