I read about your Mum' passing in the Spectator. Your Mum and my Mum (Amie MacFarlane) were friends for a very long time. It is my understanding that the met on the ship that brought them to Canada. Unwilling for it to be a passing friendship our Mothers renewed their acquaintance once a year usually at the Mandarin. Our Mum died on May 14 2015. She was 91. While we are still dealing with our loss I took some comfort in visualizing Eileen and Amie sharing lunch and endless cups of tea / coffee in Heaven. It will take awhile but it is so good to realize that I like you was blessed to have known my Mother for such a long time, in my case 69 years. Please accept our condolences and prayers. 20 years ago last Friday - August 28, 2015 - Jack and Eileen attended my Mom and Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary at my home in Burlington! It was very nice to meet with both of you at that time and I remember there was lots of fun and laughter when you arrived - you are both special jovial people and Mom and Dad always spoke very highly of you and Eileen. My deepest condolences to you Jack and your family.

Dear Jack and family - I was very sad to read about the passing of Eileen! My sincere condolences. Eileen and Jack were special friends and neighbours of my late parents George and Eileen Cook. The 'girls' would visit back and forth and talk for hours and it was evident that they enjoyed each others company very much. The 'guys' would talk over the hedge and resolved all the worlds problems. Eileen was a very special lady and she will not be forgotten! JA
