Obituary of John Cameron

John (Pop) Cameron of Stoney Creek, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2015 at the Juravinski Hospital in his 100th year. John is predeceased by his wife Mary Cameron (1995). John was born in Glasgow, Scotland on April 30, 1916. While in Scotland, John served with the Royal Navy on the HMS Sardoynx during World War II. After the war, John moved his family to Stoney Creek where he went on to become an iron worker with Local 763. He was also a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 58. John is survived by his children, John Cameron, Linley Cameron, and Moira Giovannini (Joe). He is also survived by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives in both Hamilton and Scotland. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the New Village Retirement Home and Juravinski Hospital. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 58.
