Obituary of John Louis Papp
Slipped away peacefully, at St. Peter’s Hospital, after a lengthy illness, on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 65. Beloved husband and best friend of Debbie Etherden for 38 years. Cherished father of Kyle (Lana) and Chad (Charity). Proud Poppa of Owen, Hunter and baby to be. Predeceased by his parents Mike and Isabel Papp and grandparents Gus and Isabel Zuppan. Dearest brother of Brenda Dallier, Roni (Brian) Elyea, Sheri (Tim) Metler. Loving brother-in-law of Robin Etherden, Michael Etherden, Rhonda (Jim) Roxburgh. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Also missed by his treasured family Sharon and Gary Gall. Dear friends of Tom and Nancy Madejski, Ugo and Pat Pennachetti. John will miss all of the wonderful times up north, vacations and famous dinner parties that we all shared. Special thanks to John’s caregivers from Bay Shore CCAC over the last 3.5 years, starting with his nurses Jennifer and Marion, PSW’s Annie and Jocelyn, all of his doctors and the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday, June 12, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Cheyne Presbyterian Church, 7 King St. W., Stoney Creek, on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would sincerely appreciate donations to Cheyne Presbyterian Church.
