Obituary of John C. Hunt

Passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the age of 91. Loving husband of 63 years to the late Betty Hunt (2006). Predeceased by his parents Charles F. Hunt and Annetta Pearl Hunt, sister Azail L. Scarlett, brother Charles F. Hunt Jr., daughters Sandra Louise (1954) and Sandra Lee Craftchick (2014) (Ken). Survived by and loving father to John J. Hunt (Charlotte), Terry D. Hunt (Margaret), and Barry P. Hunt (Sheri). “Papa” to Julie and Taylor Craftchick. Grandfather to Daniel, Thomas, and Joshua Hunt, Cheryl Vrkljan, and Marcia Irving. Great-Grandfather to Isla and Simon Irving, Marcus, Carson, and Ellianna Vrkljan, Haydan Hunt, and Kane Craftchick. John was a dedicated employee of Dofasco for 45 years, retiring in July of 1985. He and Betty were faithful members of The Church of the Nativity (formerly St. Mary’s Anglican Church) since 1954. John was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, coached youth baseball for many years, and was an original member of the Mohawk Trail Golf Club. John, Betty, and Sandra were well-known in the equestrian community, showing and judging horses for many years. It is with no regrets that John joins the love of his life, Betty, for eternity together. A private family service officiated by family friends Reverend Derek Perry and Reverend Yun Hee Perry will be held at The Church of the Nativity, Hamilton. Arrangements entrusted to the Donald V.
