Obituary of George Cowles

COWLES, George With our hearts broken, we announce the passing of our father, George Cowles, in his 89th year after, a brief illness at McMaster Medical Centre on Sunday, May 30, 2010 peacefully and surrounded by his loving family. Dad was a loving husband and best friend to Lillian for 64 years. Devoted father to Bonnie (Don), Gary (Darlene), Larry (Patti), Debbie (Bob), and predeceased by son Robert. Grandfather to Danny (Stacey), Bradley (Jodi), Sean (Tracy), Charlene, Jodie (Mathew), Jason, Gary, Laurie, Wesley (Leigh), Shane (Tania), Darren (Diane), Sheryl (Mark) and great-grandfather of 15. George also leaves behind a sister Alice, many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, dear friends and a special angel Diane Foster. George was a veteran of the Second World War. His devotion to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was unending. His greatest pleasure was his family, always putting them first. He had a wonderful sense of humour and was so easy to please. Dad you will always be the guiding light of our family and we will always love you and miss you. We know you are with Bob now, protecting us from heaven. Special thank you to the staff of 4Z at McMaster for your compassionate care. A celebration of life will be held at Glendale Golf and Country Club, 401 Mount Albion Road on Sunday, June 13th from 2-4.
