Obituary of Edward G. Robinson

Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side at the Huntsville Hospital, on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, in his 90th year. Beloved husband to the late Dorothy Robinson for 56 years. Proud father to Donna Crawford (George), Dianne Brandon (Max), Wendy Whitwell (Graham), Ron Robinson (Marilyn), and Lori Williams (Chris Roberts). Cherished Grandfather to Dan and Mark Brandon, Kyle (Carrie) Whitwell and Breanne Whitwell, Jackie Van Der Marel (Casey), Eric Robinson, Garett and Kailey Williams. Ed was a cherished Great-Grandfather to Kyleigh Whitwell, and also for the second time to an expecting Casey and Jackie Van Der Marel. Predeceased by siblings Emerson Robinson and Meryle Old and sons-in-law Willie Brown and Steve Williams. Ed will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Ed was a self-employed founder and owner of Edward G. Robinson Ltd. Heating business, which operated in Stoney Creek for over 50 years. He was also the owner of Halcyon Shore Cottages Family Resort located on Pickerel Lake in Burk’s Falls, which he operated with his wife and children from 1964 to 1980. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at Cheyne Presbyterian Church. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, 190 Ontario St., Milton at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
