Obituary of James Douglas Black

Peacefully with his family at his side at Macassa Lodge on Monday, April 21st, 2014, in his 97th year. Beloved husband of the late Claire. Loving father of Rosemary (Marc), Bev (Doug) and Robert (Sharon). Loved grandpa of Michelle, Robert, Matthew, Julie, Cyndi, Steven and 7 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his brothers Willie, Bert, Jack, Joe and sisters Marion and Lilly. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Macassa Lodge for their compassionate care towards Dad and his family. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A private family interment to take place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Elliott Heights Baptist Church, 1300 Fennell Ave. East on Saturday, April 26th at 1 p.m. In Jim`s memory, donations to Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum or Elliott Heights Baptist Church would be appreciated.
