Obituary of D. Allistair Corbett

CORBETT, D. Allistair It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allistair Corbett on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, in his 83rd year. Devoted husband to Joyce for over 60 years, and cherished father to Ian (Barbara) and Alison (Rob). He was most proud of his grandchildren; Scott (Samantha), Kendra (Dougie), Sarah and Luke. Allistair is also survived by his brother Grant (Joan) and sisters Sheila and Moira (Mel). Predeceased by his parents Marion and Donald Corbett and his sisters Eleanor (Bob) and Carole (Gary). Allistair was a founding member of the Hamilton Police Pipe Band. He retired from the Hamilton Wentworth Regional Police in 1987. He spent a lot of time fishing and attending many sporting events to support his grandchildren. Allistair also enjoyed many years as a member of the New Horizons Senior’s where he found such wonderful friends as well as the Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 16th at 10:30 a.m. Interment Eastlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family have requested donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Peter’s Hospital.
