Obituary of Joseph Patrick Malcolmson

With great sadness, surrounded by his family, Joseph passed away at the Hamilton General Hospital on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 in his 64th year. Devoted husband to Muriel of 40 years and loving and cherished father of Amanda and her husband Brian McCracken, Leigh Anne and her husband Paul Matecki. Doting Papa of Hayden, Andrew and Elle. Dear brother of Bill (Mary), Russ (Rica), Rosemary (John MacLean), Gary (Cheryl), David, Nancy (Barry Simmons),Gregg (Tammy) and brother-in-law of Gilmonde (Larry Schweitzer), Rosemonde (Jim Carter), Alexander Mallais, Vernon Mallais and the late Joann (Michael Lopez). Loved by wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Joe was a retired employee of Stelco with 35 years of dedicated service. Special thanks to St. Joseph’s CCU and Hamilton General CCU, ICU and HIU, especially Dr. Lamy and the cardiac team for their exceptional care. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers 8:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Parish on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of The Angels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
