Obituary of Fred Cocker

COCKER, Fred WWII Veteran On April 25, 2009, at the Hamilton General Hospital in his 96th year. Husband of Marjorie, stepfather to Darlene Twyman and Ray Porter. Predeceased by his first wife Edith (1982), Father of Janet (Clint) Husband, grandfather to Brady (Barbara) Welch and Blair (Sarah) Welch. Great-grandfather to Maddie, Tory, and Rowyn. Brother of Winnie, Ben, Clarence (deaceased) and George. Mr. Cocker served with the 48th Highlanders in Italy and the Netherlands, and was a 40 year post office employee with the Fruitland Post Office. The family appreciates the loving care and friendship provided by the many staff members of the Arbour Creek Long Term Care Centre through the last 5 years. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Ave Dr., Stoney Creek, on Tuesday April 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery.
