Obituary of Shirley Eybel

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shirley Eybel in her 72nd year. Predeceased by her parents David and Jean Woodwork of Binbrook. She will be greatly missed by her son Lenard Eybel (Patti), and her daughter Karen Cowie (Steve). GiGi will be forever missed by her 4 granddaughters Heather, Brittany, Courtney and Melissa. Shirley was the secretary of the Binbrook Fair (Agricultural Society) for over 44 years. She was also involved in the family business, Binbrook Insurance. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, baking, playing euchre, scrabble and rumoli. She was a very hard working and determined woman. Special thanks to the heroic efforts of the Hamilton Fire Department/EMS and also to the staff in CICU at the Juravinski Hospital. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Binbrook Agricultural Society or Binbrook Knox Presbyterian Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
