Obituary of Larry H. Shuker
75 years is not long enough and on Feb. 17, 2014, Larry’s wife Jan was devastated by losing the wonderful man who brought happiness into her life. Son of the late Orpha and Harold Shuker, Big Bro to sister Phyllis (Gene) Lambert, Lyn (Jan), Ken (deceased) sister-in-law Judy. Sons, Cole (Dayna), Ryan (Karen), Scott, Todd (Candy), Dan Moser and adored daughter Crystal Brady will have a hole in their lives where “Lar” used to be. Grandchildren, Alex (Andra), Garnet, Jason (GG Parker, Madison), Jory, Jake, Randi, Aaron, Julian, Mitchell, Devon, Daniel, Katie, Ryleigh and Zack will miss Grandpa’s high 5s and bear hugs. Larry enjoyed sharing stories about his hockey career as a player and coach and in the last few years he had fun “telling lies” with his curling and baseball buddies. One of the last things he did was give a loud shout-out when Canada’s Olympic team scored. The family wishes to thank Dr. J. G. Lapinsky, Dr. G. Stallwood, the Hamilton EMTs, staff of the Hamilton General Hospital in ER, CCU, ICD and HFC clinics for their help and support. Shuke’s beautiful Goldens are still watching for “Dad” to come home. Visitation for Larry will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avene Drive, in Stoney Creek, on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, February 20, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 with service to follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Golden Rescue would be appreciated.
