Obituary of Maria Rita Cecere

CECERE, Maria Rita (nee Botticella) Peacefully passed away at the Hamilton General Hospital on Wednesday January 19, 2011, in her 76th year. Beloved wife of 49 years to the late Paolo. Loving mother of Yolanda and her husband Christopher Cornell, Josie and her husband Darren Parsons, Antonietta and her husband Jay Marshall and her son John. Cherished grandmother of Alexandria, Erica, Claudia, Julianna, Emily and Nina. Dear sister of Antonio, Giovanni, the late Rocco, the late Angela Mirabella, many brothers-in law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special thanks to her caring neighbours of 43 years and the doctors and nurses at the Hamilton General Hospital for their care and compassion. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers Monday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Incarnation of Our Blessed Lord Parish (corner of Barton St. and Nash Rd. N.) on Tuesday January 25, 2011 at 9 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In Rita’s memory, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
