Obituary of John Oscar Northey

Peacefully, with family by his side in his 94th year on January 31, 2014. Beloved husband for 65 years of Bernice (nee Ward). Father of William (Jackie) and Brian (Leslie). Grandfather of Lucas, Rachel and Karlee. Jack was a WWII Veteran from 1940 – 1946 in England, Normandy, Holland, Belgium and Germany. Jack was an employee for 20 years at Jackson’s Bakery until they closed. He then worked for the Board of Education for the next 20 years until he retired in 1986. Jack and Bernice became members of Trinity United Church in 1971 where they both prepared communion for 20 years and was clerk of sessions. Jack also enjoyed coaching hockey at Saltfleet and Stoney Creek Arenas for 30 years. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 1-4 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery in Hamilton.
