Marilyn was our neighbour and our friend who graced our street with a tremendous dry wit, and a constant smile and laugh that only Marilyn could do. And it was always contagious. We will miss seeing her on the porch and hearing her in the back garden and her face popping over the fence to chat or see what we were up to. She was a very special lady, wife, mom and grandma, and will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. Marilyn, we are grateful to have had you in our lives. Your spirit and many happy memories will remain in us always. Lots of love, Sue, John, Danielle and Sarah

The above comments say it all about Marilyn, she was the best friend anyone could ask for. We grew up together in Stoney creek and were like sisters, she was the sister I never had. We ended up marrying first cousins and have been related ever since. Times and distance separated us, but never was the love lost. I will always be grateful for the times she and I had and all the laughs. She was my confidant and my buddy, we could sit down and talk and it was though time had not passed. My regret is that I didn't get to spend more time with her in these last several years. My heart goes out to Don, Donna Lynne, and all Marilyn's family and her dear friend Carol. Marilyn will always be remembered and truly loved by myself and my family, we spent many good times together and she will be missed by all that knew her and loved her. Rest in Peace, Marilyn Love always, Lorraine and Bob

How quickly the past 20 years have gone by since I moved on to Marilyn Crescent. And Marilyn and Don were the first ones to greet me and welcome me to the neighbourhood and what great friends they have been. Don always said "if we don't see you during the week, we'll see you through the window", as we lived right across from one another. Marilyn loved each one of us on the street - the younger kids as well as all us bigger kids. We loved gardening together and many times went off to the various nearby nurseries to look at plants and flowers. So many memories of sitting out in the backyard or on the front porch, just chatting at length with a cup of tea. Marilyn took such good care of my gardens and my house whenever I was away, and for many years kept my cat company when I was travelling. The sign she planted at our front porch when Jeff and I were married was such a creative treat to come home to! Thank you, my dear friend, for all the great fun and laughter we had - I will miss you so much!! I have treasured our friendship and will continue to do so. And Jeff so enjoyed your fun and humour as well. We are so thankful to have had you in our lives and will miss you and love you. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Don - we will help take care of him for you - and to Donna and Andrew, Matt and Carolyn.

We were blessed to have gotten to know you Marilyn not only as a neighbour but a friend. Your quick whit and sense of humour always made us smile and on occasion laugh out loud. You were a match for Alan's banters and rants and I know he will miss your come backs greatly as I will for our deeper conversations. Your image in jeans and those forever white sneakers will always be fondly remembered as you walked the neighbourhood catching up with us all. We will miss you on the front porch with Harley greeting us while catching up on news and daily events of the day. Rest in peace our friend as you fought such a courageous battle and now the pain is gone. Our love goes out to Don, Donna, Andrew, Matthew, Carolyn and extended family, friends and lest we not forget Harley, you're four legged companion. XO
