Obituary of Petar Masic

Peacefully with his family by his side, Petar passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, in his 89th year. Petar is survived by his beloved wife Mara, of 53 years. Loving father of Dusanka and Jelena Masic and Jovanka and her husband Melenko Djokic. Proud and cherished grandfather of Nikolina, Aleksandar and Zachary Djokic. Dear brother of Nikola. Predeceased by siblings Ilija, Stevo and Jovanka. Petar was born in Uzdolje, Knin Yugoslavia, November 9, 1925, to Djuro and Jeka Masic. Petar was a member of the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral on Nash Rd. and a World War II Veteran of Chetniks under Draza Mihailovich. Special thanks to Dr. Brimble, Nurse Sharon Kostoloff and the staff at St. Joseph’s Dialysis Centre, Stoney Creek. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Thursday from 4- 9 p.m. Pomen at 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 149 Nash Rd.S., Hamilton, on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 1 p.m. with the Very Reverend Djuro Samac officiating.
