Obituary of James Bernard Burns

BURNS, James Bernard At the Hamilton General Hospital on Monday evening February 8, 2010. Jim passed away after a lengthy bout with prostate cancer, in his 83rd year. He is survived by his wife Isabel, daughters Lorraine Baverstock, Kathy Elmer (Tom) and son Jack. He was predeceased by his sister Isabel O’Brien and survived by his brother Ted (Mable) and his sister-in-law Heather Temple and her husband Bill, who Jim says was his best friend. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his many special friends. Jim was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 622 Stoney Creek and also a life member of the Stoney Creek Lions Club. As per Jim’s request, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 622, 12 King Street East, Stoney Creek on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 2 p.m. In Jim’s memory, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
