I cannot believe that I am writing a message like this. Don was such an active man who took tremendous pride in how in shape he was, as he should have been, I am still shocked by this as I am sure everyone is, especially Rob and Dianne. Don was a father to me plain and simple, really the only man I could sincerely say that about, whether we talked about baseball...just the Jays Cuz to him they were the only team that mattered lol.. Or talking about our common taste in music or Don putting on a paper puppet show he was always knowledgeable and had a sense of humour that was identical to Don Sr. Grampa Darnley.. I have so many memories of our time together but also have some regrets the past couple years and the suddenness of this tragedy has really made me realize that at any second our lives and the lives of our loved ones can change in an instant. I regret not telling Don how much he really did and does mean to me, as well as his granddaughters who miss their papa already. I don't know where to stop because I can go on and on but Don, I miss you and hate that I am saying this to you like this but as a son, husband, father, brother and grandfather, nephew, cousin, uncle you, I am sure, you have touched so many lives and you have no idea theimpact you have had on my llife and the love I have for you as a dad that you were to me. Watch over your kids and grandchildren and I know for certain the Jays will have a great season now that they have a little biased help from above.

Don will always be remembered for his big smile and pleasant demeanor. He was a real "chip off the old block" - so much like his dad, Don senior, in that way. They were two family oriented, kind men. Men, like them mattered for so many reasons. Especially for what they added to the Darnley Family fabric. His children, Rob and Diane, and his sister, Norma, were particularly blessed to have had him as a Dad and Brother.
