Obituary of Benjamin (Bob) Bullock
BULLOCK, Benjamin (Bob)
1919 –2011
After a lengthy illness, Bob Bullock, loving husband of Julie (nee Matychuk) and his dearly departed wife Margaret (Peg). Predeceased by his son John. Bob passed in his sleep on Sunday, April 10th. Left to mourn his passing are his biological daughters Linda Fletcher and Judy Birch and his three grandchildren Steven and Andrea Fletcher and Michael Ryan. With the saddest of heart Bob also leaves his wonderful x-son-in-law Howard Birch, his loving step-children David Matychuk (Jean), Douglas (Debra) and Donna Dunbar (David), his loving step-grandchildren Tom, Heather, Gina, Mason, Kayla and Dylan and his step-great-grandchildren Damion and Chelsea McCannall and Oliver and Henry Matychuk. Especially Uncle Ben will be sadly missed by his niece Joyce and Richard Oliver and their entire families. Bob has many special friends, but none greater than Marlene and Ray Dulude and their families from Montreal who will miss his telephone calls and his special laugh on the phone. Also, he will be desperately missed by all his Euchre and Crib pals at the Legion Branch 622, Stoney Creek and the Legion Branch 58, Hamilton. Bob has been a Legion member for 36 years, the last ten at Stoney Creek. He was also a member of the New Horizons Euchre seniors club in Stoney Creek and Young at Heart Euchre club in Hamilton. Bob leaves behind many old and new friends and all of his relatives who mourn his passing. He was a veteran of the Second World War and served in the Royal Canadian Engineers Third Division for 5 years throughout Europe. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service and a Legion Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, April 18th at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Mountview Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Canadian Cancer Society or DARTS would be appreciated by the family.
