Obituary of Jean Brown

BROWN, Jean (nee Carnegie) – The family of Jean Brown are saddened to announce her peaceful passing on Thursday, October 30, 2008. Born in Dundee, Scotland on May 25, 1911. Beloved wife of the late Robert (Bert) Brown (1987). Devoted mother of Ruth and her husband Jim Roberts of Grimsby and Sandra and her husband Harvey Buck of Hamilton. Dedicated Nana to Greg and his wife Jennetta Roberts of Hamilton and Megan Roberts of Grimsby. Survived by her sister-in-law Marge Carnegie. Jean was also anticipating her first great-grandchild’s arrival in November. Predeceased by parents George and Eva Carnegie, siblings Margaret, Eva (Scott), Cameron and Helen (Hebblethwaite). Jean was a life-long follower of Christ, actively involved at the former Livingstone United Church, the former Truth Gospel, and Paramount Drive Alliance Church (formerly Delta Tabernacle). We are so grateful to the staff at United Mennonite Home for their loving care. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Private interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
