Obituary of Robert Edward Wilmot

WILMOT, Robert Edward It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bob at home on Friday, July 1, 2011 in his 76th year. Beloved husband of 52 years to Eileen. Wonderful father to Nancy and Brian Armstrong and Jennifer and Rob Rocklyn. Greatest Papa and best friend of Jonathan, Jeffrey and Cameron. Beloved brother of Carolyn and Ed Kainola (Nova Scotia) and Bruce and Kathy Wilmot (British Columbia). Special brother-in-law of Mary Nunn (the late Lloyd), Bill and Shirley McCulloch and Jim and Marilyn McCulloch. Bob will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Bob worked at TH&B/CP Rail for 38 years. He was a faithful member of St. Columba Presbyterian Church as Clerk of Session and member of the Board of Managers. For over fifty years he was involved with the Hamilton Board of Basketball Officials. Bob enjoyed many years with his golfing buddies Jeff and Jim. The family would like to thank everyone for their ongoing love and support over the last 15 months. Special thanks to his many doctors over the last few years and appreciation to CCAC and especially Janelle who helped during this difficult time. Friends and family will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 1:30-5 and 6:30-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at St. Columba Presbyterian Church, Main and Weir St., Hamilton on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11 a.m. As en expression of sympathy, donations to the Bob Kemp Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
