Obituary of John (Jack) Charles Williams

WILLIAMS, John Charles (Jack) In the early morning of Wednesday, January 30, 2013, just eight days before his 92nd birthday, loving brother, father, and grandfather Jack Williams passed away peacefully at St. Josephs Hospital in Hamilton. He is predeceased by June (Davis), his loving wife of 52 years, and his younger brother Larry. He will be fondly remembered as father to Elissa, Jackie, and John (Pamela); as grandfather to Nik Kozlo, John, Molly, Will Kozlo, and Oliver; as older brother to June Howard (nee Williams) and David. His full and storied life included service in the Merchant Marine while still a teenager, World War II service in the RAF and the RCAF, working as an electrician (co-founding Beacon Electric in Hamilton), and a career in teaching at the secondary school level (GCVI in Guelph, Highland District High School, and Winona District High School) and college level (Mohawk College). Jack was a member of the congregation of the Church of the Redeemer in Stoney Creek, St. James in Guelph, and St. Michaels in Hamilton. His devotion to his family and friends, his positive outlook on life, and his unique sense of humour is how he will be remembered. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek. Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 1-4 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 1 p.m. followed by interment at Eastlawn Cemetery (corner of Nash Road and Barton).
