Obituary of Charles (Charlie) Westphal

WESTPHAL, Charles (Charlie) It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband and dad at his home in Grimsby on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at the age of 63 years. Most dearest husband and best friend to Susan (Strabac) for almost 41 years. Cherished dad to Dusty Belanger and Tawna and Matt Olinski. Proud Papa to Chase. Brother to most loving sister Bridget and her husband Brian Deavu. Will be lovingly missed by his in-laws Joan and Dan Dominick, Nance and Fred Hudson, Paul Strabac, his mother-in-law Anne Strabac and by his nieces and nephews Danielle (Tim), Aden, Kelsey (Adam), PJ, Jesse, Belle, Madison, Tyler, Ashley and Aaron. Dearest friend to Helga and John Lochner. Charlie was the Sole Proprietor of Westgate Property Management which proudly maintained the Gateway Niagara Welcome Centre from 2002-2007. Charlie was a proud recipient of many Trillium Awards for his beautiful gardens. He will be missed by his four legged friends. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Saturday from 6-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation will follow. Special thanks to Dr. Peter Ellis and Dr. Tom Corbett at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, family Dr. Scott Wooder and the CCAC particularly nurse Barb Lichty with the West Lincoln Palliative Care Team for their compassionate care and kindness.
