Obituary of John Curtis Underdown

UNDERDOWN, John Curtis(1952-2009) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Curtis Underdown on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in his 58th year at the Hamilton General Hospital. Predeceased by his father John (Jack) Underdown, with whom Curtis shared a birthday, and by his mother MarJean Underdown (nee McLennan). Also predeceased by his beloved maternal grandmother Agnes Wilson. Curtis was an avid sports fan and participant in football, hockey and baseball. During his years in Vancouver, BC, Curtis coached a girls ringette team and appeared as Santa Claus at many charitable Christmas parties for disadvantaged children. He will be extremely missed by several relatives and a great number of friends who loved him dearly. Left behind are his two tabby cats, Georgie and Georgette, whom he loved like children. Greatly appreciated are the hundreds of expressions of condolence, love and compassion. Many thanks to the staff of Hamilton General Hospital and Hamilton Police Service for their caring assistance. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Dr., Stoney Creek on Monday April 20th from 6-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, April 21st at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Curtis will be interred, as per his wishes, beside his cherished mother at Eastlawn Cemetery (the corner of Nash and Barton). Donations to the Ontario SPCA would be greatly appreciated in the memory of Curtis and his love for cats. www.donaldvbrown.ca
